Kavya Dhobale, once a dedicated nurse on the COVID-19 front lines, transformed her life’s path to focus on restoring health through organic farming and vermicomposting.

During the pandemic, she sacrificed personal comfort to care for her patients, an experience that ignited her quest for a deeper solution.

After contracting the virus herself, she realised that prevention held more power than treatment.

The realisation led her to explore the root causes of disease linked to diet and chemicals.

“I understood preventing diseases might be more impactful than treating them after they occur,” she says.

Kavya left behind the security of her government nursing job to embrace organic farming. She was determined to combat chemical-laden agriculture’s effects.

Kavya focused on vermicomposting that enriches the soil naturally and promotes sustainable practices.

She began with a small investment and modest plot, turning it into a thriving vermicompost business producing 20 tonnes monthly.

Priced at Rs 500 for a 50 kg bag, she has achieved an impressive annual sale of Rs 30 lakh, with a profit margin of 50 percent.

Kavya’s Krushi Kavya Agro Vermicompost Training Centre has educated and empowered over 3,000 individuals, fostering a new generation of organic farmers.

“With each farmer trained, each field revived, and each life touched, our work offers hope that together, we can indeed save soil and, in turn, save ourselves,” she says.
