Jitender Mann spent over two decades in cities like Chennai, Bengaluru, and Delhi, observing a rise in health issues like thyroid disorders and high blood pressure. He, himself, was no exception.

By his early 40s, Jitender's blood pressure had reached 160. "It was a wake-up call for me. After starting the medication, I felt that this was going to be my new normal," he recalls.

Growing up near the Yamuna river in Delhi, Jitender saw farmers using polluted water for irrigation. "I am not an expert, but I believe everything is related to the food we eat," he reflects.

In 2015, Jitender began growing moringa on his Delhi terrace. "I developed a lush green garden with vegetables such as ridge gourd, bottle gourd, and moringa," he recalls.

In 2018, Jitender and his wife, Sarla, moved back to Mehmudpur village in Haryana.

After relocating to their village, the couple replaced their wheat and paddy fields with moringa. "It has miraculous results," Jitender says, highlighting the plant’s numerous health benefits.

Studies show that moringa helps treat conditions like wounds, pain, liver disease, heart disease, and inflammation. It also helps lower glucose levels, making it an essential part of Jitender’s health transformation.

To preserve the nutritional value of moringa, Jitender and Sarla invested in a drying setup. "We dry the leaves under large fans and in a controlled greenhouse setup," Sarla explains.

The couple adopted jungle farming methods, avoiding harmful chemicals. "You can only produce good-quality moringa leaves if your soil is fertile," says Sarla.

Starting with two acres, they now produce moringa on four acres. "We make sales of Rs 3.5 lakh per month and Rs 10 lakh per acre every season," Jitender shares.

Jitender and Sarla now live a healthier, more fulfilling life. "I feel moving to my village was one of the best decisions we ever made," he says.

With growing demand, the couple plans to expand their moringa fields to eight acres and explore international markets.
