Part museum, part gallery, part lakeside escape, Zapurza is a seven-acre art and culture space near Pune’s Khadakwasla Dam.

A majestic Nataraja statue welcomes you in. In one stunning space, Zapurza is where history, art, and nature come together.

Built by PN Gadgil & Sons, this space was created to preserve Indian art and make it accessible to everyone — especially children.

The name ‘Zapurza’ comes from the poem of a Marathi poet, Keshavsut and it means a creative, free-flowing state of mind untouched by daily worries.

Here, you can explore around 10 galleries with paintings, textiles, sculptures, jewellery, oleographs, antiques, and heritage lamps. Zapurza has held over 27 exhibitions, each one celebrating India’s art, history, and cultural traditions.

You could experience Zapurza's offerings through its workshops, events, and live demos focused on painting, sculpture, and craft.

Along garden paths, find a 1927 Austin 7, an old wooden rowboat, and a medieval warrior’s statue. The lawns offer a peaceful lake view. A fort-style bastion and the distant Sinhagad Fortress add to the charm.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 am to 6 pm, and the entry fee is just Rs 100. Entry is free for children under five.

Whether you are an art lover, a nature seeker, or just need a peaceful break, Zapurza will give you that escape.
