A recent report by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) reveals that one in three tree species is at risk of extinction.

Alarmingly, the number of endangered tree species is now “more than double the number of all threatened birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians combined.”

As environmental conservation becomes increasingly urgent, here are five initiatives that are redefining tree plantation efforts across India.

2. SankalpTaru With over eight million trees planted across 28 states and union territories, SankalpTaru Foundation uses technology to drive afforestation. Their efforts span India’s diverse landscapes, highlighting the importance of ecosystem restoration.
