Arista Vault, a smart luggage startup co-founded by Atul Gupta and Purvi Roy, is on a mission to make travel safer with technology-driven solutions. The company offers a range of products designed to protect travellers from theft and loss.

Atul’s journey started at 17 when he secured a job as a ticket collector in the Indian Railways. Working closely with passengers, he noticed a recurring issue — people constantly lost their luggage, often to theft.

“I could see the distress and loss it caused to the people and had always wanted to do something about it,” says Atul. These experiences stayed with him throughout his career.

While working in the railways, Atul began preparing for the UPSC CSE. “It was not easy managing both things and I failed four times before cracking the exam,” he recalls. After 13-14 years as an officer auditing national PSUs, Atul wanted something of his own.

Atul made a bold decision to retire early and pursue entrepreneurship. “It was a huge decision to take an early retirement, but I did not have the direction of what I wanted to do next,” he recalls.

The turning point came after his wallet was stolen on the Delhi Metro. The incident sparked an idea: what if there were a solution to prevent such thefts?

Around the same time, Atul met Purvi Roy at an event. Purvi, a successful fashion entrepreneur, was at a crossroads in her career. “I didn’t find my work fulfilling. I was in a dilemma and wanted to do something impactful,” she shares.

In 2018, Atul and Purvi, alongside their friend Col Krishan Kumar Singh, co-founded Arista Vault. Together, they set out to develop solutions that would enhance travel safety using smart technology.

Arista Vault offers three categories of products: smart wallets, smart bags, and smart luggage. The smart wallets, crafted from premium Italian leather, are equipped with an anti-theft chip that triggers an alarm if misplaced or stolen. They also feature GPS location tracking and a built-in 3000mAh power bank to charge devices on the go.

The smart bags come with fingerprint locks to ensure only the owner can access the contents. They also include anti-theft alarms and stylish designs that make them appealing to modern travellers.

Meanwhile, the flagship product — the "Robo suitcase" — boasts features like 'follow me' technology, AI-powered sensors for smooth movement, and even rideable functionality. These suitcases have become a crowd favourite, earning praise for their convenience and futuristic appeal.

Arista Vault even impressed the panel on Shark Tank India, securing a Rs 45 lakh deal. Purvi says, “Even at the show, our luggage was the star of the evening. All the sharks loved riding on it and they kept moving it around.”

The startup is expanding both locally and internationally. They plan to open experience stores and begin exporting products to the US. Their first store in Ahmedabad is just the beginning. “We're excited to grow across India and beyond,” Atul says.

Arista Vault’s journey is just starting. With more products and plans to open stores in airports, they are changing the future of travel safety.
